- Lead environmental monitoring (EM) activities, including sampling of compressed gases, water systems, and cleanroom environments.
- Conduct microbial identification and testing of commercially prepared culture media.
- Maintain and analyze microbiology productivity databases; prepare monthly metrics and trend reports.
- Investigate microbiological deviations and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Review and verify microbiological data to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Utilize LIMS for sample tracking, test results, and reporting.
- Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Mentor microbiology analysts promoting a culture of quality and continuous learning.
- Manage onboarding, training, and development of new staff in EM and microbiology protocols.
- Coordinate scheduling and task allocation.
- Apply Lean principles to improve lab workflows and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring timely communication and project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 6+ years of microbiology lab experience, including environmental monitoring in a GMP-regulated setting.
- 6+ years of experience leading technical or laboratory teams.
- Strong knowledge of microbiological testing, EM protocols, and lab compliance standards.
- Proven ability to coach staff, manage lab operations, and drive team performance.
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm . Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Raleigh, NC are encouraged to apply.
