INCH & CO.
Founded in 2012 by brothers John and Jeff Inch, Inch & Co. has grown from a small local builder into an award-winning family of companies, named one of Central Pennsylvania's fastest-growing companies by the Central Penn Business Journal in 2022. Headquartered in York, PA, we take an integrated approach to real estate spanning land development, design, construction, management, and long-term investment, so quality and purpose are built into every detail.
About Inch & Co. Construction
Inch & Co. Construction is the building arm of the Inch & Co. family, designing and constructing commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties throughout South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Our portfolio spans multi-family communities like The Flats at Hampden and Fairway Flats, as well as commercial and industrial projects like the MCI Commercial Office and Sherman Street Warehouse. Because we operate inside a vertically integrated company, our field leaders work on projects that go from land development straight through to construction and long-term management, all under one roof.
Our culture is key for our growth
Inch & Co. started as a family business, and that hasn't changed as we've grown. The company traces back to a small landscaping business built by John Inch Sr. in 1994, later carried forward by his sons John and Jeff into a multi-division company spanning construction, real estate, development, landscaping, and property management. That third-generation mentality still shapes how we work. We hold ourselves to a high standard, we take care of our people, and we give back to the communities we build in through initiatives like Inch Gives Back. On our job sites, that shows up in leaders who look out for their crews as much as their schedules.
We're looking for amazing people to join our team (more specifically, a CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN). The role is based in York, Pennsylvania.
Here's where you come in
You're a natural leader, comfortable being the person a crew looks to when something needs a decision. You like being hands-on, whether that's walking the site each morning, solving a field issue before it becomes a delay, or picking up tools yourself when the work calls for it. You take ownership of your scope, communicate clearly up and down the chain, and hold your crew and subcontractors to the same standard you hold yourself.
What you should know about our team
Our foremen work in close coordination with the Superintendent and Project Manager on every job, forming the daily link between the office plan and what happens in the field. We rely on daily huddles and constant communication to keep everyone aligned, because small issues caught early save real time and money. We value leaders who take initiative, don't wait to be told twice, and genuinely care about their crew.
What you should know about Inch & Co. Construction
Think field leader first, paperwork second. We got here by outworking bigger firms and treating every project like it's the one that will define our reputation. That mentality hasn't changed as we've grown into a company with projects across Pennsylvania and expansion into Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. We promote from within, give our foremen real ownership over their phase of work, and back them up when tough calls need to be made in the field.
Overall Purpose
The Construction Foreman role turns the project plan into daily execution. This person keeps crews and subcontractors safe, productive, and on schedule, while catching and resolving field issues before they cause delays or rework. It's a role that carries real weight: the quality and pace of the entire project depend on strong leadership on the ground.
