Job Description

As a Senior Manager, Business Operations & Strategy, you will join one of the portfolio companies within Manos Software Group, a Valsoft Operating Group, and lead a priority transformation mandate. Valsoft is a software investment firm that operates more than 150 businesses, giving you access to the experience and perspective of a broad group of business leaders.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to solve important operating challenges, accelerate growth, strengthen profitability, and improve outcomes for customers and colleagues.

Your role will go beyond analysis and recommendations. You will lead the execution of a defined transformation mandate, coordinating teams, supporting adoption, and delivering measurable results. Your work will contribute to the decisions that shape the business day to day, from improving processes and systems to customer experience, talent development, and financial performance.

At Valsoft, an entrepreneurial mindset is fundamental to success. We expect our leaders to think and act like owners: identify opportunities, make informed decisions quickly, take calculated risks, and remain accountable for results. This is a role for someone energized by building and improving a business.

Managing Director Track

The Managing Director Track is designed for ambitious early career leaders who have the potential and ambition to lead a company. Candidates who demonstrate ability to deliver sustained business results, sound judgment, strong leadership capability, and alignment with our values may be considered for a Managing Director role within 12 to 24 months, subject to readiness and the availability of an appropriate opportunity.

Your role

  • Own the transformation plan, key performance indicators, and improvement priorities for a defined mandate or operating area.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve revenue, pricing, customer retention, cost performance, service delivery, processes, and systems.
  • Build a strong understanding of the business, its customers, its financial performance, and its competitive environment.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear actions, accountabilities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead priority transformation initiatives from diagnosis through implementation, coordinating stakeholders, supporting adoption, and measuring operating and financial impact.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on business planning, performance reviews, and major decisions.
  • Engage and support teams affected by change while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the portfolio to share best practices and support business improvement initiatives.

Your growth

Building a stronger business requires curiosity, resilience, sound judgment, and a willingness to take responsibility when the path forward is not obvious. You will receive practical experience, clear feedback, and direct support as you build your leadership capability.

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership: Work closely with experienced operators and business leaders who will invest in your development and hold you to a high standard
  • A senior mentor: Receive coaching and feedback from a designated mentor as you build the judgment required to lead a business
  • Learning through ownership: Develop by taking responsibility for real business outcomes, not by observing from the sidelines
  • A network across the group: Learn from leaders in other portfolio companies and gain exposure to different businesses and operating environments

Your qualifications and skills

We are looking for people who want to operate, build, and eventually lead a business.

You may be a recent MBA graduate with meaningful professional experience before business school, or a leader who has demonstrated the ability to lead a team, a function, a product, a region, or a major business initiative.

You will bring:

  • 4 to 7 years of professional experience
  • A record of delivering measurable results
  • Strong commercial and financial judgment
  • Evidence of leadership through direct management responsibility or ownership of a significant initiative
  • The ability to identify problems, set priorities, translate strategy into practical action, and guide cross functional change through adoption and measurable impact
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust across teams and levels of an organization
  • The confidence to make decisions, combined with the humility to seek feedback and learn quickly
  • A strong ownership mindset, commercial curiosity, and genuine ambition to build and lead a business

Experience in software, SaaS, technology, financial analysis, acquisitions, integration, or operational improvement is valued but not required.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base salary and performance based incentive.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Unlimited vacation.
