Job Description
Schenk UK is an innovative, national tanker haulage business operating one of the largest road tanker fleets in the country. For over 60 years, we've proudly served the chemicals, gas, fuels, waste, and powders sectors, becoming the UK's largest chemical transporter.
We are looking for an experienced LGV Driver (Class 1 ADR) to join our team based at our Grays depot, working Monday to Friday tramping. Potential yearly earnings of £65,000 per annum, please note this is an indicative figure.
Pay Rates:
£162.80 per day during your training period. Once you have completed your training you will revert to the below pay agreement.
Tramper driver Monday to Friday Occ Saturdays for return to base
Hourly rate - up to 8 hours £16.54 - Overtime rate thereafter £24.81 per hour per day
Guaranteed min pay 9 hours (8 hours at £16.54 plus 1 Hour O/T at £24.81 = £157.13 per day) for any weekday shift
Guaranteed pay for nights away from Harwich (> 25 miles from depot) min pay 12 hours (8 hours at £16.54 plus 4 hours O/T at £24.81 = 231.56) plus night out payment £41.54 (some of the night out payment is taxable) Early starts payment (before 6 AM) £4.63 per day
Voluntary and subject to availability - Weekend and Bank Holidays working attract enhanced payments
All breaks are paid
25 days holiday (paid on average earnings)

FULLY PAID BREAKS and paid ADR & CPC Refreshers
Essential Requirements:
An LGV Class 1 licence with no more than six points
A tachograph card
A Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
A valid ADR licence all classes other than 1 & 7 (Training available for the right candidate)
A strong understanding of Driver Transport Legislation
A safety focus
Minimum 2 years Class 1 experience
In unit sleeping required 2-5 times each week
Tanker Experience preferred.
The Package:
In addition, overtime is available, CPC training hours, courses and CPC accreditation and driver medicals are all paid for. Full PPE is provided.
