Job Description

Reporting into our Merchandise Systems & Governance Manager you'll play a critical role in ensuring the information that powers our merchandise function is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose to ultimately support better decision-making across the business.  

What you'll be doing: 

  • Data & Governance - Maintain accurate merchandise master data across key systems and drive data quality, consistency and governance standards. 
  • Systems Support - Provide guidance and troubleshooting for merchandise systems and support users/teams optimising system capabilities. 
  • System Administration - Manage system updates, hierarchy maintenance and user access and support testing, upgrades and system enhancements. 
  • Quality & Compliance - Monitor data quality and system compliance, investigate recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions. 
  • Stakeholder Management - Collaborate across Merchandise, Planning and Technology teams to resolve issues and improve processes 
  • Operational Support - Provide subject matter expertise and support for merchandise operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimising business disruption. 
  • Process Governance - Maintain and improve merchandise processes, controls and standards to support consistent ways of working and effective governance. 
  • Change & Enhancement Support - Support the implementation of system enhancements, process changes and new functionality, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and are operationally effective 
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve systems. 

 



  • Relevant qualification in Business, Commerce, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 
  • Experience working with master data, business systems or system administration in commercial environment (retail would be a bonus!) 
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and system processes.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and drive solutions  
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across multiple systems 
  • Experience supporting business process improvement, system enhancements, testing and change implementation. 
  • Knowledge of merchandise, planning, supply chain or retail business processes would be advantageous 
  • Able to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for stakeholders 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and process discipline 
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment  
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with a collaborative work approach 
  • Proactive and curious mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and challenging existing ways of working. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to influence outcomes, resolve issues and drive process improvements
