Job Description

Product Marketing NCG

Location: San Jose, California, United States
Employment type: Full-time, regular

About the role

Astera Labs is seeking a Product Marketing NCG to help shape how its products and solutions are understood, evaluated, and adopted by customers, partners, and industry leaders. This is a technical product marketing role at the intersection of product strategy, business storytelling, hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems.

You will work closely with Product and Platform, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Field Application Engineering, Product Applications, and ecosystem partners to translate complex technology into compelling product narratives, technical demos, launch materials, enablement, and customer experiences. The right candidate is a strong communicator and self-starter who can learn technical concepts quickly, organize multiple workstreams, and move launches and deliverables forward through ambiguity.

What you’ll do

  • Connect technical product capabilities, roadmaps, requirements, and APIs to customer needs, use cases, business value, and market opportunities.

  • Create product stories, positioning, messaging, solution briefs, presentations, launch materials, technical collateral, demos, and other content that explains why products matter.

  • Support product launches, industry events, customer workshops, partner engagements, and other go-to-market activities from planning through execution.

  • Develop and maintain product positioning, value propositions, competitive insights, FAQs, enablement materials, and messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Work with Product, Engineering, Sales, FAEs, and Product Applications to gather inputs, define business and technical requirements, align expectations, and remove roadblocks.

  • Build presentations and demo messaging for cross-functional, customer, partner, and executive audiences, incorporating feedback through review and approval cycles.

  • Train internal teams and external partners on product roadmaps, solution value, technical concepts, APIs, SDKs, integration workflows, and customer use cases.

  • Support partner and standards-body engagement by tracking requirements, ecosystem developments, and opportunities that influence product positioning and adoption.

  • Help align software and hardware roadmaps so product narratives, APIs, integration workflows, and solution benefits are communicated consistently.

  • Support market, competitive, customer, and partner research and translate findings into practical positioning, launch, and go-to-market recommendations.

  • Contribute to sales enablement, channel or business-model analysis, pricing inputs, and other activities that help teams take products to market.

  • Support technical storytelling for observability, telemetry, system management, and cloud and AI infrastructure solutions.

  • Own defined deliverables and workstreams, communicate progress and risks, think several steps ahead, and keep work moving when resources or timelines change.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, business, marketing, or a related technical or business field.

  • Strong interest in cloud infrastructure, AI systems, enterprise software, semiconductors, networking, or hardware/software solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to synthesize technical, customer, market, and business information into clear stories, recommendations, presentations, and content.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build productive relationships across engineering, product, marketing, sales, FAE, product applications, and partner teams.

  • Self-starter mindset, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, and review cycles.

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, AI infrastructure, system management, APIs, and the customer problems those technologies solve.

  • Ability to respond constructively to feedback, find paths around roadblocks, and deliver high-quality work on time.

Preferred qualifications

  • Understanding of open standards and ecosystem projects such as Redfish, DMTF, OpenBMC, Linux Foundation projects, or OCP.

  • Interest in PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, system-management software, observability, telemetry, APIs, SDKs, or cloud and AI infrastructure.

  • Experience with programming, APIs, SDKs, technical projects, demos, or software/hardware integrations through school projects, internships, or personal work.

  • Experience creating presentations, launch plans, product documentation, technical writing, sales enablement, or customer-facing content.

  • Familiarity with translating technical roadmaps and integration workflows into product positioning and customer value.

  • Passion for bridging hardware and software and turning complex technology into clear, real-world customer impact.

Compensation

Salary range is $140,000 to $155,000 depending on experience, level, and business need. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.
