Job Description

Quantinuum is seeking an experienced strategic sales professional to establish and grow its Australian business across quantum computing cloud services and strategic on-premises deployments.

As the first dedicated commercial hire in Australia, you will shape the national commercial strategy, build executive relationships, and lead high-value opportunities across enterprise, government, and research institutions. You will translate customer priorities into funded programmes, commercial agreements, and long-term strategic accounts.

The role combines cloud-services revenue growth with the development and execution of complex, multi-year infrastructure deals. Working closely with APAC and global leadership, you will prioritise opportunities and direct commercial, technical, and executive resources towards sustainable growth across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

Australian Commercial Strategy and Strategic Accounts

  • Define and execute the Australian commercial strategy, prioritising accounts, sectors, and partnerships with the strongest revenue and strategic potential.

  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise, government, research, and funding stakeholders, strengthening Quantinuum’s credibility and maintaining engagement.

  • Develop account plans that align customer objectives, investment priorities, and procurement pathways with Quantinuum’s capabilities.

  • Own opportunity qualification, revenue delivery, forecasting, and commercial execution, expanding initial engagements into long-term strategic relationships.

  • Provide market intelligence to guide strategy and investment, and mobilise global resources to progress priority opportunities with independence and accountability.

Cloud Services and Customer Expansion

  • Grow cloud-services revenue by identifying valuable customer applications and converting technical interest into paid engagements.

  • Work with customers and internal specialists to establish business cases, adoption roadmaps, and commercial models that support sustained usage.

  • Lead negotiations for cloud-access agreements, renewals, and account expansion.

  • Identify opportunities to broaden customer relationships across Quantinuum’s portfolio, including on-premises deployments where appropriate.

On-Premises Deals and Strategic Programmes

  • Originate and lead on-premises quantum computing opportunities with enterprise, government, and research customers.

  • Establish executive sponsorship, funding pathways, technical requirements, and infrastructure readiness for significant investments.

  • Coordinate technical, scientific, deployment, legal, finance, and executive leadership teams through evaluation, procurement, negotiation, and contract execution.

  • Structure high-value, multi-party and multi-year agreements, aligning customer commitments with deployment and delivery requirements.

  • Develop partnerships that strengthen proposals, enable implementation, and support long-term adoption.

You must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic, complex solution sales within the scientific technology, advanced computing, or enterprise infrastructure sectors

  • Experience navigating technical evaluations, public-sector procurement, funding processes, and multi-stakeholder decisions.

  • Demonstrated success leading strategic technology sales and closing complex, high-value agreements in Australia.

  • Experience developing executive relationships across enterprise, government, and research organisations.

  • A track record of growing cloud or platform-services revenue and progressing infrastructure or on-premises opportunities.

  • Strong commercial judgment, including account prioritisation, business-case development, deal structuring, and negotiation.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional deal teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

  • Disciplined pipeline management and forecasting, combined with the adaptability required to build a new market.

  • Ability to work independently in an emerging market while collaborating effectively within a global matrix organisation.

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within Australia and internationally as required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Quantum computing, HPC, AI, cloud infrastructure, or related advanced technologies.

  • National computing programmes, research infrastructure, or strategic government technology investments.

  • Established customer, government, research, and partner networks across Australia.
