Facilities Maintenance HVAC Technician

Pay: DOE (Depending on Experience)
Shift: 1st Shift / Primarily Days
Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance HVAC Technician to support the maintenance and operation of a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, circulation fans, and environmental control systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Respond to facility maintenance requests and support day-to-day building operations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and maintenance records using a CMMS system.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with commercial HVAC installations and repairs.
  • Perform or assist with plumbing repairs and gas line installation and maintenance.
  • Support building automation controls and environmental systems.
  • Assist with facility improvement and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Commercial HVAC installation and maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage maintenance priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and reliable attendance.

Preferred Certifications & Training

  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
  • NFPA 70 Arc Flash Training
  • Liebert Environmental Cooling Systems Training
  • Low Pressure Chiller Training
  • Ohio Fire Detection License
  • Building Automation Controls Training

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including 8–12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required by business needs.
  • Ability to safely perform hands-on maintenance and repair work in a facility environment.
