Job Description
About Maybell Quantum
Maybell Quantum Industries is a venture-backed quantum hardware company building the cryogenic infrastructure that quantum computers depend on. Quantum computers will be as transformative to the next 30 years as the internet was to the last 30, and our team is creating the hardware foundation to make that possible. We are headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and are now establishing our first operations facility in Singapore.
The role
We are seeking a senior operations leader to own Maybell's global supply chain and serve as General Manager of our Singapore site. This is a dual-hat senior management position: roughly 80% of your time leading supply chain across all Maybell locations, and 20% as the senior Maybell leader in Singapore with managerial oversight of the office.
As Director of Global Supply Chain, you will own demand and materials planning, procurement, supplier management, logistics, and material cost across our cryogenic hardware lines, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering. As General Manager, Singapore, you will lead the standup of our Singapore facility and its team, and own site performance as it moves from an empty facility to a qualified, producing operation.
Location: Singapore, with regular travel to Denver and other Maybell sites
Reports to: President
Global supply chain leadership (about 80%)
Planning and inventory
- Own global supply planning: master schedules, availability forecasting, capacity, and on-time delivery commitments, in partnership with manufacturing at each site.
- Run demand and materials planning, including forecast-to-build conversion, MRP-driven purchasing signals, safety stock policy, and inventory investment levels.
- Own supply chain's use of the ERP/MRP system across sites: BOM and routing accuracy, master data, planning parameters, and inventory transactions, with the transaction discipline that makes the data trustworthy.
Sourcing and suppliers
- Lead procurement and supplier management globally: sourcing strategy, negotiations, contracts and terms, and supplier performance reviews.
- Build a balanced US, European, and APAC supplier base, qualifying regional suppliers and contract manufacturers that support each site.
- Own supply chain risk, including sole-source exposure, long-lead components, dual-sourcing strategy, and supplier qualification.
- Partner with quality on supplier quality, nonconformance resolution, and documentation control so defects are caught upstream of the build.
Cost, logistics, and compliance
- Own the material budget and inventory investment plan, including tooling and long-lead equipment procurement.
- Own inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing and stockroom operations, and import/export and trade compliance across all sites.
- Drive continuous improvement programs to reduce lead time, material cost, and inventory.
New products and metrics
- Partner with engineering to bring new products into production, driving supplier readiness, design-for-supply-chain, and clean handoffs between sites.
- Define, baseline, and report supply chain metrics: on-time delivery, nonconformance rates, inventory accuracy and turns, material cost variance, supplier on-time delivery, and lead-time performance.
- Lead, coach, and grow a global supply chain team spanning multiple time zones.
General Manager, Singapore (about 20%)
Site standup and operations
- Lead the standup of the Singapore facility, including site selection, lease, build-out, and commissioning of assembly, lab, and production space.
- Put in place the production, EHS, facilities, and IT infrastructure needed to operate safely and reliably from day one.
- Partner with the VP of Operations to transfer manufacturing, test, and quality processes to Singapore and qualify the local line against global standards.
- Own the site budget and capital plan, and report site performance against cost, schedule, output, and quality targets.
People and leadership
- Provide managerial oversight of the Singapore office and serve as the senior Maybell leader on site.
- Establish a high-performance, safety-first culture that reflects Maybell's standards while working effectively in the local market.
- Act as the primary interface between the Singapore team and headquarters functions.
Governance, compliance, and local presence
- Act as the local owner and work with support global legal, finance, and HR teams to maintain the local entity, employment practices, statutory compliance, and required licenses and permits.
- Support initiatives on export control, quality (for example ISO 9001), and EHS requirements applicable to the site.
- Support Maybell SG interaction with government agencies, economic development bodies, universities, and industry partners in Singapore and the wider APAC region, including management of applicable grant and incentive programs.
- Identify site, supply, and regulatory risks early and put mitigation plans in place.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 12+ years in supply chain, planning, procurement, or operations leadership in hardware, deep tech, semiconductor, or complex electronics manufacturing, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrated experience taking complex hardware from prototype through repeatable production, and building planning and inventory processes from the ground up in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
- Direct sourcing and negotiation experience with contract manufacturers and precision machined, cryogenic, or electromechanical component suppliers.
- Hands-on ERP/MRP experience, including an implementation, migration, or major module rollout, plus BOM and routing structures, planning parameters, and inventory control.
- Experience standing up or scaling a new site, plant, or country operation, including hiring and process qualification.
- Deep working knowledge of the Singapore and broader APAC operating environment, including local hiring practices, regulatory requirements, and the regional supplier base.
- Budget and P&L ownership, with a track record of delivering programs on cost and on schedule.
- Strong command of quality and continuous improvement methods, such as root cause analysis, CAPA, and lean.
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of influencing across manufacturing, quality, and engineering, across time zones, and with executives and investors.
