Job Description
About Assembled
Assembled helps companies scale great customer support. As consumers, we’ve all been there. You need help, you’re stuck on hold or going in circles with an AI, and your problem still isn’t solved.
Behind great support is a complex operational problem: thousands of people and AI agents working across teams, time zones, and products as new problems emerge. Assembled gives support leaders the tools to manage that complexity, from AI agents that resolve customer issues to software that forecasts demand, builds schedules, and makes intraday adjustments.
More than 400 companies, including DoorDash, Salesforce, Stripe, and Sephora, trust Assembled. We've raised $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, Stripe, and Basis Set Ventures and have offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.
The Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), your core responsibility will be generating high-quality pipeline and building the foundation for a career in sales.
We believe SDRs are more critical than ever in the AI era, and that the role is best AI-enhanced, not AI-replaced. You’ll use AI to research accounts, personalize outreach, and scale your impact while developing the judgment, curiosity, and product expertise that great sellers need.
This is not just another SDR role. One of our cultural values is to “get on the plane.” We win by meeting customers face-to-face, so you’ll represent Assembled at events, trade shows, and dinners. You’ll get exposure to discovery calls and demos and build the skills to grow into a closing role. Today, 40% of our Account Executives started as SDRs.
You’ll get exposure to teams at companies like Canva, Ramp, Robinhood, and Stripe, learning how some of the world’s largest support organizations actually operate and where Assembled can make a real difference. It’s a chance to build strong sales instincts by working on meaningful business problems from day one.
We’re open to people coming from outside traditional SaaS sales. What matters more is that you’ve shown you can learn quickly, push yourself, handle setbacks, and figure things out when the answer isn’t obvious.
You will report to our SDR Manager. We’re in-person 5 days a week from our bright, airy offices in the Mission in San Francisco and Chelsea Market in New York.
What You’ll Do
Generate and book meetings with outbound prospects to create high-quality pipeline
Prospect across cold calls, email, LinkedIn, events, and other channels
Research accounts, identify key stakeholders, and figure out where there is a real reason to engage
Use AI tools and automation to work more efficiently, personalize outreach, and improve how you prospect
Build strong discovery, objection-handling, and communication skills through coaching and repetition
Build toward running discovery calls and more customer conversations independently
Attend in-person events, conferences, and customer meetups to create opportunities and build relationships
Partner closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and RevOps on outbound campaigns and strategy
Test new ideas, learn from what works, and help us keep improving the SDR playbook
About You
You’re serious about building a career in sales and can explain why this path appeals to you
You’ve done hard things before and have clear examples of setting a high bar for yourself and delivering
You ask good questions, dig past surface-level answers, and like figuring out how a business really works
You’re scrappy when there isn’t a clear answer and can make progress without waiting for a perfect playbook
You pick things up quickly, take feedback well, and actually change how you work because of it
You can handle setbacks and rejection without losing momentum
You communicate clearly, work well with others, and aren’t afraid to push back when you see something differently
You don’t need prior SDR or SaaS experience; we care more about how you think, learn, and operate
Our U.S. benefits
Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits
Paid company holidays, sick time, and unlimited time off
Monthly credits to spend on each: professional development, general wellness, Assembled customers, and commuting
Paid parental leave
Onsite work model with catered lunches everyday (M-F), snacks, and beverages in our SF & NY offices
401(k) plan enrollment
