Job Type: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday - Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary Range: $120,000 – $180,000 annually, DOE
Location: Flexible (onsite training at Kansas City headquarters)
Position Overview
J.R. & Co. is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to run commercial roofing and building envelope projects on military bases and federal facilities for agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, the Air Force, and GSA. You'll own each project from award through closeout, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, billing, schedules, and closeout. You'll work alongside our superintendents and field crews to deliver safe, high-quality work. This is a great fit for an experienced construction PM who enjoys running projects and wants to help grow a federal division with a veteran-owned company.

Essential Functions
- Lead contract and subcontract reviews, and make sure permits, insurance certificates, and bonds are issued promptly after award
- Develop and submit project planning documents, including the Accident Prevention Plan, Quality Control Plan, site staging, waste, and Small Business Subcontracting plans
- Lead Pre-Construction, Progress, and After-Action meetings with the contracting officer, prime contractor, and field team
- Prepare the Schedule of Values, oversee billings and Davis-Bacon certified payroll, and monitor job costs and forecasts
- Manage subcontractors, architects, and suppliers as the scope requires
- Manage the submittal register, change orders, and RFIs, with RFIs submitted within 48 hours of notice
- Work with the Superintendent to monitor schedules, and respond to clients and stakeholders
- Manage several projects at once through closeout, including warranty and closeout documents
Required Skills and Abilities
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain) and a valid driver's license
- USACE CQM-C certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, UFGS specifications, and FAR/DFARS contract requirements
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling, including building, updating, and maintaining project schedules
- Experience with RMS (Resident Management System) or similar federal project management systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, solicitations, and contracts
- Ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
- Leads by example, embodies JR&CO values, and treats clients, crews, and team members professionally
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor or specialty contractor
- Experience on federal construction projects as or directly with a prime contractor (USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, GSA, VA, or similar)
- Roofing, building envelope, or exterior construction experience strongly preferred
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- PMP certification is a plus but not required
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Pass an initial drug test and take part in the random drug testing program
- Mostly indoor office environment (about 90% office, 10% field)
- Ability to work at heights, including on rooftops
- Occasional travel for site visits, in-person training, and networking
