Commis - Pastry

• Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other bakery products according to recipes and standards.
• Prepare and measure ingredients accurately for daily pastry production.
• Assist with mise en place and ensure all ingredients are properly prepared and organized.
• Support the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie during daily operations and service.
• Ensure consistent quality, taste, texture, presentation, and portion size.
• Assist with decorating and finishing cakes, pastries, and desserts.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Operate pastry and bakery equipment safely and correctly.
• Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
• Assist with buffet, à la carte, and special event preparations.
• Follow hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie.

• Previous experience in a pastry or bakery kitchen is preferred.
• Culinary or Pastry Arts certificate is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pastry, baking, and dessert preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery equipment.
• Good attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Creative and willing to learn new pastry techniques.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
