You will work across Production, R&D, and Quality to improve existing processes, scale up new products, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and strengthen the systems and documentation that support our operations. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on chemical manufacturing expertise with process improvement, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You Will Get to Do
Improve How We Manufacture
- Assess product specifications, documentation, and quality standards to improve the quality, stability, consistency, and efficiency of new and existing adhesive manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce labor, material, and overhead costs while maintaining product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Optimize production process parameters and controls and execute process validation protocols.
- Plan workspace requirements and apply manufacturing-cell design strategies that support flexibility for high-mix, low-volume demand and new products.
Scale and Launch New Products
- Develop and scale up new products and adhesive manufacturing processes from development into production.
- Lead the coordination of manufacturing launches with Production, R&D, and Quality for new and revised products.
- Support product innovation and prototype design and develop functional testing protocols within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Apply liquid and solid mixing and dispersion science to improve manufacturing viability and make effective use of modern mixing systems.
Strengthen Quality and Process Control
- Improve manufacturing consistency and first-pass yield by strengthening work instructions, SOPs, process-change documentation, and in-process adjustments.
- Characterize and manage manufacturing quality risk through process validations, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs), process flows, and control plans.
- Work within ISO policies and Dymax's Quality Management System to support disciplined, compliant manufacturing processes.
- Resolve customer complaints using effective root-cause analysis tools and implement the associated improvements to processes, documentation, and systems.
Lead Through Technical Expertise
- Build subject-matter expertise through research, workshops, and hands-on manufacturing experience, and translate that knowledge into practical best practices.
- Train and mentor colleagues and operators on processes, work instructions, SOPs, and manufacturing practices.
- Lead projects and influence cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and successful execution.
- Work hands-on in the manufacturing environment while also using data, documentation, and enterprise systems to support process decisions.
What Success Looks Like
- Manufacturing processes are stable, consistent, efficient, and capable of meeting product and quality requirements.
- New and revised products transition into manufacturing with clear ownership, documentation, controls, and cross-functional alignment.
- Process risks are identified early and addressed through validation, PFMEAs, control plans, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Operators and colleagues have clear, practical work instructions and SOPs that support safe, repeatable execution.
- Process improvements contribute to stronger first-pass yield, better manufacturing viability, and reduced labor, material, or overhead costs. Why This Role Matters
