Job Description

If you are someone who naturally connects with people, you might be the exact person we are looking for.

At Graham Auto Repair, we believe that great auto service isn't just about fixing vehicles; it’s about building trust, delivering clarity, and keeping our community safely on the road. We are looking for an empathetic, enthusiastic, and highly organized Junior Service Advisor to serve as the vital link between our customers and our technicians.

This role is designed for growth. If you have a natural gift for customer service, a solution-oriented mindset, and a strong drive to learn, we provide the mentorship, paid annual training, and support to fast-track your progression into a top-tier Senior Service Advisor.

How You’ll Connect & Make an Impact

We can teach you our shop software and technical terminology, but genuine care for people comes from within. You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • A People Person at Heart: Friendly, warm, and approachable. You genuinely enjoy greeting customers, making them feel heard, and turning a stressful car issue into a smooth, comforting experience.
  • An Active Listener & Great Communicator: You listen with empathy, ask the right questions, and can break down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand concepts.
  • A Problem Solver with a Positive Demeanor: You stay calm under pressure, embrace a fast-paced environment, and face unexpected challenges with a helpful, can-do mindset.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: You take pride in staying organized, tracking details, and keeping everyone from customers to technicians on the same page.
  • Eager to Learn & Grow: You’re enthusiastic about cars and eager to absorb automotive knowledge with a goal of growing into a senior advisory role.

What You’ll Do

Customer Experience & Relationships

  • Serve as the welcoming face and voice of our shop across high-volume channels (phones answered in 3 rings or less, texts, chats, and emails).
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and guide them through repair options based on safety, urgency, and budget. Follow established shop processes to build accurate repair orders and present clear estimates.
  • Build long-term customer trust by keeping them updated on repair timelines, costs, and maintenance recommendations in a clear, transparent way.
  • Build quick connections with customers while driving our shop shuttle
  • Bridge the gap between our customers and our technician team, ensuring clear communication on every job.
  • Prepare accurate, itemized repair orders and schedule services to keep the shop running smoothly.
  • Maintain an inviting, clean service desk and waiting area for our guests.
  • Drive the customer shuttle, assist with emergency parts runs, and participate actively in weekly team meetings.
  • Commit to ongoing skill building, shop software mastery, and career growth milestones.
  • Assist with emergency parts pick-ups and share your perspective in weekly team meetings.

Benefits & Career Growth

  • Salary Range: $17.50 – $24.00 per hour
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, HSA, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company matching.
  • Paid Time Off: Accrued PTO and paid holidays.
  • Growth & Mentorship: Direct mentorship from senior advisors and management, paired with a structured pathway into a Senior Service Advisor role.
  • Paid Training & Certifications: 40 hours of annual paid professional training, plus full company sponsorship C1 certification test fees.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 1+ years of customer service experience required (retail, hospitality, automotive, or client-facing roles).
  • Skills: Strong computer proficiency, superior attention to detail, and top-tier written/verbal communication skills.
  • Licensing & Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to work at our Graham, WA, or Yelm, WA locations as needed.
  • Certifications: Commitment to obtaining ASE C1 certifications (we cover the cost!).
  • Physical Demands: Stationary work (~50% of the time at a computer desk), frequent verbal communication, occasional stair climbing, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Work is primarily indoors with occasional outdoor/shop exposure during vehicle walk-arounds or shuttle trips.

Hiring Process & Compliance Disclosures

  • Washington Fair Chance Act: In accordance with state law, background checks and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews are conducted only after a conditional offer of employment is extended.
  • Insurability Requirement: Because this role involves driving customer vehicles and our shop shuttle, final employment is contingent upon being deemed "insurable" by our commercial insurance carrier based on your driving record.
  • MVR Review: If a conditional offer is extended, we will review your MVR. Should any concerns arise, you will have five business days to provide context or corrections prior to a final decision.
