Job Description

Purpose: The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides the leadership and strategic planning of the clinical services programs offered at the facility; ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the overall administrative process and management systems for all clinical services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs.



Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted Louisiana license issued by the applicable professional licensing board.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Must be currently certified/trained in LOCUS and CALOCUS and able to complete applicable level-of-care assessments.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct clinical practice experience preferred.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory and/or administrative experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience providing community-based behavioral health and/or Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHR) services preferred.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and ICD-10-CM coding.
  • Knowledge of Louisiana Medicaid behavioral health requirements, medical necessity criteria, and Managed Care Organization (MCO) requirements preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and comply with HIPAA, confidentiality, ethical, licensing, payer, and agency requirements.



Additional Clinical Responsibilities

  • Complete and/or review LOCUS and CALOCUS assessments as clinically appropriate and required for service authorization, continued stay, reassessment, or level-of-care determination.
  • Ensure LOCUS/CALOCUS ratings are supported by the client's clinical presentation, functional impairment, risk factors, treatment needs, and supporting documentation.
  • Utilize assessment findings, clinical judgment, and applicable medical necessity criteria when making treatment and level-of-care recommendations.
  • Assist with initial and continued authorization requests by providing clinical documentation necessary to demonstrate medical necessity.
  • Maintain all required LOCUS/CALOCUS training, certification, or competency requirements throughout employment or contractual service.



Employment Requirements

Successful candidates must meet and maintain the following requirements:

    • Maintain a current, active, and unrestricted Louisiana professional license throughout employment.
    • Maintain current LOCUS and CALOCUS training/certification and demonstrate competency in completing applicable level-of-care assessments.
    • Complete all required agency orientation, annual training, compliance training, and continuing education requirements.
    • Successfully complete all required state and federal criminal background checks and fingerprint-based screening, as applicable.
    • Successfully complete a drug screening as required by Divine Intervention Rehabilitation, LLC.
    • Successfully complete required Medicaid exclusion and sanction screenings and remain eligible to participate in federally and state-funded healthcare programs.
    • Meet applicable Louisiana Medicaid, LDH, MCO, credentialing, enrollment, and payer requirements for the services provided.
    • Maintain all professional continuing education requirements necessary for Louisiana license renewal.
    • Maintain professional liability/malpractice insurance when required by the agency, payer, or contractual arrangement.
    • Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification when required by the agency or position.
    • Maintain all documentation, credentialing, and personnel records required for continued employment and payer participation.
    • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 when applicable, agency confidentiality policies, and all applicable federal and state privacy requirements.
    • Comply with Divine Intervention Rehabilitation, LLC policies and procedures, clinical documentation standards, quality assurance requirements, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
    • Immediately report any change in professional licensure, disciplinary action, exclusion status, criminal background, or other circumstance that could affect eligibility to provide behavioral health services.
    • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to provide services in community-based settings when required by client needs and assigned duties.


Employment and continued employment are contingent upon maintaining all required licenses, credentials, background clearances, screenings, and payer eligibility applicable to the position.
