Location: Oxnard, CA
Schedule: Full-Time

Pay Range: 76,000-81,000 yearly
Travel: Bakersfield, CA — approximately every other week, as needed

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm/Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on and highly organized Human Resources Generalist to support our employees, supervisors, and leadership team across multiple locations. This position will serve as a trusted HR resource for day-to-day employee needs while supporting employee relations, onboarding, payroll, compliance, performance management, training, and engagement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is approachable, dependable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change. This role requires someone who can build strong relationships with employees and managers while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and sound HR practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and supervisors, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Travel to the Bakersfield sister location approximately every other week, as required, to provide HR support and maintain consistency across locations.
  • Lead new-hire onboarding, ensuring employees understand company expectations, workplace safety practices, policies, and kosher facility protocols.
  • Support and conduct employee relations investigations while maintaining appropriate documentation and following applicable legal and company guidelines.
  • Assist supervisors and managers with performance management, corrective action, employee coaching, and workplace concerns.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and activities across facilities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data within BambooHR and other HR systems.
  • Oversee local payroll processes and work with appropriate partners to ensure payroll information is accurate, timely, and compliant with company practices.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and support performance reviews, employee training, company events, open enrollment, and other HR programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
  • Partner with leadership and supervisors to identify HR needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Perform additional HR duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant HR experience and/or training.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) preferred.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
  • Experience with BambooHR or another HRIS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employee relations, records management, and general administration.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trust and maintain professional relationships.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify solutions, and follow through.
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with supervisors, managers, and leadership.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the Bakersfield location as needed.
