Job Description
The Writers Bar Server is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to guests, ensuring their satisfaction and enhancing their overall experience. Their primary responsibility is to accurately and efficiently take and process drink orders while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attentiveness. They offer personalized recommendations, share product knowledge, create a welcoming atmosphere and contribute to the hotel's reputation for service excellence. Their engagement with guests is crucial as they anticipate their needs and deliver beverages promptly and with attention to detail. Their exceptional service helps the hotel fulfil its commitment to providing a memorable and enjoyable stay for every guest.
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. A qualification or certification in Hospitality, Bartending, or Food & Beverage Service is an advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Bar Server, Bartender, Food & Beverage Server, or in a similar role is preferred. Experience in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment is highly desirable.
- Beverage Knowledge: Good knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, including basic preparation techniques, glassware, garnishes, and presentation.
- Guest Service Skills: Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, engaging, and service-oriented personality and a genuine passion for exceeding guest expectations.
- Communication Skills: Good English communication skills are required. Additional language skills are an advantage, particularly in an international luxury hotel environment.
- Physical Stamina: Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and work effectively in a fast-paced service environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in taking orders, serving beverages, processing payments, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar.
- Safety & Hygiene: Good understanding of food and beverage hygiene, workplace safety, proper handling of glassware and utensils, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, with the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements and guest needs.
