Job Description
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of Mediterranean and international dishes according to recipes and standards.
- Prepare mise en place, ingredients, sauces, marinades, salads, and other food items as assigned.
- Support the Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members during daily operations and service.
- Ensure all food is prepared with consistent quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation in the assigned work area.
- Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Properly store and label food items, ensuring correct temperature control and FIFO practices.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Support buffet, à la carte, and special event preparations as required.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and other departments.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
- Culinary certificate or relevant culinary training is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Mediterranean and international cuisine.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to work for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
